सम्भाषण-श्लोक – लक्ष्मी, पार्वती
भिक्षुः क्वास्ति बलेर्मखे पशुपतिः
किं नास्त्यसौ गोकुले
मुग्धे पन्नगभूषणः सखि सदा
शेते च तस्योपरि
आर्ये मुञ्च विशादमाशु कमले
नाहं प्रकृत्या चला
चैवं वै गिरिजा-समुद्रतनयोः
सम्भाषणं पतु वः ॥
sambhāṣaṇa-śloka – lakṣmī, pārvatī
bhikṣuḥ kvāsti balermakhe paśupatiḥ
kiṃ nāstyasau gokule
mugdhe pannagabhūṣaṇaḥ sakhi sadā
śete ca tasyopari
ārye muñca viśādamāśu kamale
nāhaṃ prakṛtyā calā
caivaṃ vai girijā-samudratanayoḥ
sambhāṣaṇaṃ patu vaḥ ॥
*Hint: If you remember ākāśavāṇi (All India Radio – AIR) saṃskṛta pāṭhaṃ signature tune [keyūrāṇi na bhūṣayanti puruṣaṃ], then it is easy to learn this śloka. Look here.
लक्ष्मी: भिक्षुः क्व अस्ति? lakṣmī: (bhikṣuḥ kva asti?) = Where is the beggar?
पार्वती: बलेः मखे pārvatī: (baleḥ makhe) = In Mahabali’s yajña – वामन (vāmana)
लक्ष्मी: पशुपतिः lakṣmī: (paśupatiḥ) = Lord / protector of animals
पार्वती: असौ गोकुले न अस्ति किम्? pārvatī: (asau gokule na asti kim?) = Is he not in Gokul? – कृष्ण (kṛṣṇa)
लक्ष्मी: मुग्धे lakṣmī: (mugdhe) = O dear / dull
लक्ष्मी: पन्नगभूषणः lakṣmī: (pannagabhūṣaṇaḥ) = with ornament of snake
पार्वती: सखि सदा तस्य उपरि च शेते pārvatī: (sakhi sadā tasya upari ca śete ) = O friend, he always sleeps on top of it – महाविष्णु (mahāviṣṇu)
लक्ष्मी: आर्ये lakṣmī: (ārye) = O noble lady
लक्ष्मी: विशादम् आशु मुञ्च lakṣmī: (viśādam āśu muñca) = give up sorrow immediately
पार्वती: कमले pārvatī: (kamale) = O Lakshmi
पार्वती: अहं प्रकृत्या चला न pārvatī: (ahaṃ prakṛtyā calā na) = I am not unstable by nature (like you – चंचल)
च एवं वै (ca evaṃ vai) = and this indeed
गिरिजा-समुद्रतनयोः सम्भाषणं (girijā-samudratanayoḥ sambhāṣaṇaṃ) = conversation between पार्वती (mountain’s daughter) and लक्ष्मी (ocean’s daughter)
वाः पतु (vāḥ patu) = may protect us
Context: Thus went the witty conversation between Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Lakshmi.
