30.1 ratnākara ādhautapadāṃ

रत्नाकराद्धौतपदां
हिमालयकिरीटिनीम् ।
ब्रह्मराजर्षिरत्नाढ्यां
वन्दे भारतमातरम् ॥

ratnākarāddhautapadāṃ
himālayakirīṭinīm ।
brahmarājarṣiratnāḍhyāṃ
vande bhāratamātaram ॥

(अहम्) भारतमातरम् वन्दे ((aham) bhāratamātaram vande) = (I) prostrate to the motherland, Bharat1
रत्नाकर-अधौतपदां (ratnākara-adhautapadāṃ) = whose feet are well washed by the ocean, the creator of gems
हिमालय-किरीटिनीम् (himālaya-kirīṭinīm) = whose crown is the Himalayas
ब्रह्म-राजर्षि-रत्न-अढ्यां (brahma-rājarṣi-ratna-aḍhyāṃ) = who is rich with gems such as saints and noble leaders / kings

1The land that revels (रमते) in the light (भा) of knowledge.

Meaning: I prostrate to the motherland, Bharat1 whose feet are well washed by the ocean, the creator of gems, whose crown is the Himalayas, who is rich with gems such as saints and noble leaders / kings.
