स्वगृहे पूज्यते मूर्खः
स्वग्रामे पूज्यते प्रभुः ।
स्वदेशे पूज्यते राजा
विद्वान् सर्वत्र पूज्यते ॥
svagṛhe pūjyate mūrkhaḥ
svagrāme pūjyate prabhuḥ ।
svadeśe pūjyate rājā
vidvān sarvatra pūjyate ॥
स्वगृहे मूर्खः पूज्यते (svagṛhe mūrkhaḥ pūjyate) = a fool is worshiped in his home
स्वग्रामे प्रभुः पूज्यते (svagrāme prabhuḥ pūjyate) = a ruler is worshiped in his village
स्वदेशे राजा पूज्यते (svadeśe rājā pūjyate) = a king is worshiped in his kingdom
विद्वान् सर्वत्र पूज्यते (vidvān sarvatra pūjyate) = a wise person is worshiped everywhere
Hint: सप्तमी विभक्ति (saptamī vibhakti) (Locative Case)
Meaning: A fool is worshiped in his home; a ruler is worshiped in his village; a king is worshiped in his kingdom and a wise person is worshiped everywhere.
