निर्वनः व्याघ्रः वध्यते (nirvanaḥ vyāghraḥ vadhyate) = Tiger, without a forest, is killed.
निर्व्यार्घ्रं वनं छिद्यते (nirvyārghraṃ vanaṃ chidyate) = Forest, without a tiger, is cut.
तस्माद् व्याघ्रं वनं रक्षेत् (tasmād vyāghraṃ vanaṃ rakṣet) = Therefore, tiger should protect the forest
वनं च व्याघ्रं पालयेत् (vanaṃ ca vyāghraṃ pālayet) = and forest should nourish the tiger.
Meaning: Tiger without a forest and forest without a tiger, both get destroyed. Hence, each should protect the other.
