शारदा शारदाम्भोज-
वदना वदनाम्बुजे ।
सर्वदा सर्वदास्माकं
सन्निधिं सन्निधिं क्रियात् ॥
śāradā śāradāmbhoja-
vadanā vadanāmbuje ।
sarvadā sarvadāsmākaṃ
sannidhiṃ sannidhiṃ kriyāt ॥
शारदा (śāradā) = सरस्वती (sarasvatī) = Goddess Saraswati
शारद (śārada) = of the autumn (शरद्) (śarad)
अम्भो (ambho) = water
ज (ja) = born
अम्भोज (ambhoja) = born from water(अम्भस्) (ambhas)= lotus
वदन (vadana) = face
शारद्-अम्भो-ज-वदना (śārad-ambho-ja-vadanā) = whose face is like the lotus of the autumn
अम्बुज (ambuja) = born from water (अम्बु) (ambu) = lotus
अस्माकं वदन-अम्बुजे (asmākaṃ vadana-ambuje) = in our lotus-mouth (beautiful)
सर्वदा (sarvadā) = सर्व ददाति या (sarva dadāti yā) = one who gives everything
सर्वदा (sarvadā) = always
सन्निधिम् (sannidhim) = along with all the (inner) wealth
सन्निधिम् क्रियात् (sannidhim kriyāt) = may reside
अन्वय: शारदाम्भोज-वदना सर्वदा शारदा सन्निधिम्
अस्माकं वदनाम्बुजे सर्वदा सन्निधिं क्रियात् ।
Anvaya (Prose Order): śāradāmbhoja-vadanā sarvadā śāradā sannidhim
asmākaṃ vadanāmbuje sarvadā sannidhiṃ kriyāt ।
Meaning: May Goddess Saraswati, whose face is like the lotus of the autumn and who bestows everything, ever reside in our lotus-mouth with (in the form of) all the wealth.
